After competing in swimming and running for a number of years, Vicky discovered triathlon at University in 2005. That same year she won the London Junior Elite race and competed at the Junior Triathlon World Championships. Her future goals include competing at the 2012 Olympic Games, and using her Human Biology degree to pursue physiotheraphy.
Vicky had a superb season in 2010, finishing consistently well in the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series and placing 8th overall at the end of the Series. Her performances during 2010 were enough to ensure UK Sport Lottery funding as part of the World Class Performance Programme. 2011 was a mixed season, with injury affecting much of it. Her best performances were at Sydney (opening round of the Series) and Yokohama (last WCS race of the year, points count towards the 2012 Series).
Originally from Gloucester, Vicky is based in Swansea whilst in the UK, and trains all over the world with coach Darren Smith. Her training group includes 2010 World Number 3, Lisa Norden of Sweden. Training is generally split between the Gold Coast in Australia and the Swiss Alps.
