Gordon Benson is a member of the UK Sport Lottery Funded British Triathlon Olympic Foundation Squad. He is based in Leeds, regularly training with Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee.

He was voted the British Triathlon Male Elite Junior Triathlete of the Year 2011.

He is a member of Leeds City Athletics Club and is also a member of the City of Leeds Swimming Club, the former club of Olympic Champion Adrian Moorhouse MBE. Golfer, Colin Montgomerie OBE, attended the same Leeds Grammar school that Gordon goes to.

I am planning to study Biology at university.

Muhammed Ali 

What is your best strength in triathlon?

My running, I find it easier and enjoy it more than cycling and swimming. 

How did you get into triathlon?

Through my love for running and swimming. I was invited to join the regional academy. 

What is your ultimate goal in triathlon and beyond?

My goal is to achieve and fulfill my potential throughout my triathlon career. My target is to win an Olympic and World Gold Medal.
